Spectacles & Contact Lenses
In some occasions where standard disposable contact lenses are not suitable, custom-made contact lenses are prescribed such as in cases of high astigmatism, multifocal, post traumatic eye, keratoconus, post corneal transplant (post graft) and irregular corneas.
Contact lenses available at Home & Work Optometry Care comprise of:

To prescribe these custom-made contact lenses, we utilise state-of-the art equipment such as a topographer to measure and map the corneal profile for more precise contact lens fit.

Types and Functions of Specialty Gas Permeable Lenses

In general, gas permeable (GP) lenses allow:
-
Much superior oxygen permeability to the eyes when worn, giving rise to healthier eyes.
-
Greater optical correction and better clarity compared to soft lenses.
-
Causes less dryness of the eyes compared to soft lenses.
-
More suitable for individuals with sensitive eyes due to the inert nature of the lens material which are more deposit resistant with less contact lens related complications.
-
More suitable for complex eye conditions or vision correction where conventional contact lenses or glasses are ineffective.
-
Higher durability and longer life span.
For more information on the proper steps of contact lens handling, maintenance and care, check out the “Contact Lens User Handbook” or consult our Optometrists.
Specialty Glasses
For patients with complaint of double vision in neurological, muscle palsy and binocular coordination issues or in some instances having visual field defect such as hemianopia cases, prism lenses such as Fresnel Prism, Pelli Field Expansion Prism or Yoked Prism are prescribed for the correction of double vision and visual field expansion.
